Church School Review

"Know that the Lord is God—He made us; we belong to Him. We are His people, the sheep of His own pasture." (Psalm 100:3)

Please help your child practice this memory verse at home.  We will have prizes for anyone who has it memorized on Sunday!

iPad or iPhone???
Do you want to find out what your children are learning in Church School?  Check out the Grow, Proclaim, Serve! app for iPads and iPhones.  It's full of great resources that can help you reinforce Sunday morning lessons at home. This app has games for children, along with videos dealing with the topics each week.  They can also listen to (and practice) the songs we are learning during music time.

This week, the children heard the story of Isaac having twin boys named Esau and Jacob.  Although Esau was entitled to the "birthright" (make sure you ask your child what that means!), the boys played a trick and it was eventually given to Jacob.  Believe it or not, Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of stew!

This coming Sunday, they will hear the continuation of the story of Esau and Jacob.  As you can imagine, Esau became angry after giving up his birthright and set out to destroy Jacob.  While on the run, Jacob had a dream where angels were going up and down a ladder from the earth to the sky and God was standing at the top!  The children will learn what was revealed to Jacob in this dream!

Grades 6 & 7 discussed the story of Joshua leading the Israelite people to the Promised Land.  Just like Joshua, each and every one of us is called in some way or another by God.  Have you heard your calling?  Would you knowhow to determine God's calling in your life?  He doesn't just call the equipped, He equips the called!

This coming Sunday the kids will hear the story about a judge named Samuel from 1 Samuel 7:1-8:22.  They willdiscuss how they can place their trust in God, even in situations where they question how God is at work or wonder how things will turn out.  In all circumstances, we can call on God and ask for His guidance and help!

Have you Registered your Child?
If you have not registered your child for Church School, please click on this link for a copy and return to Kristine or Cindy.

We are looking for volunteers to help at least one time during the Church School year.  Please go to sign up

This coming Sunday, wear anything you want that is orange!  Let's make Fellowship Hall as colorful as the Pumpkin Patch!

Please encourage your child to fill out a prayer card before Church School with either written words or a picture to add to our prayer box.  We have an opportunity each Sunday to lift their prayer requests and praises to God!
