New! Summer Bible Study Tuesdays 7/16-8/13

“Now when he saw the crowds coming, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them saying...” (Matthew 5:1-2 NIV)

Thus begins the narrative of Jesus ‘Sermon on the Mount” which will be the focus of a summer bible study for adults titled “Lessons of the Kingdom.” We will be looking at the early ministry of Jesus as written in Matthew 3-7 and specifically at Jesus’ teaching about the characteristics and ideals of the ‘Kingdom of Heaven’ which are as relevant today as they were in Jesus’ day.

The study will meet on Tuesday evenings in the lounge (which has air conditioning!) from 7:00 - 8:15 PM for five weeks from July 16 – August 13. It is fully participatory and includes readings of the full scripture in short passages followed by questions for discussion. The study context is further informed by appropriate historical, cultural, and biblical commentary. T

here is no homework or preparation necessary. A bible of one’s choice and format should be brought. The study will be led by David Preusch.
