Rev. David R. Piscatelli
Pastor David was appointed to Nichols UMC effective July 1, 2014. He has been a pastor for eight years and was ordained in the New York Annual Conference in 2009. Nichols UMC is the second church he is serving, having been the pastor at Faith UMC – North Haven CT since 2006. He has a passion for active discipleship, where individual spiritual growth is lived out by serving Jesus Christ in our relationships, our community, and the world. His ministry experience includes: Spiritual Director (Tres Dias), Bereavement Support Facilitator, UMC Mentor Program, Certified ERT Volunteer (UMCOR), District Statistician, and Approved Ministry Supervisor (Yale Divinity School). As a lifelong Methodist, he was an active lay member of several congregations in Kentucky, Massachusetts, and Connecticut – including Fairfield Grace UMC, Fairfield Ct. Pastor David is a 2006 graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore Kentucky, where he earned his Masters of Divinity.
Prior to attending seminary, Pastor David was a business professional for 18 years. He was a CPA in the Boston area (Ernst & Young) and a finance executive at JP Morgan Chase in New York. During his career he also worked at other small privately held companies in various industries, holding supervisory roles, interacting with clients and facilitating programs and projects with colleagues. He has a Bachelor’s of Arts from Asbury College – Wilmore KY – with a double major in Accounting and Business Management in 1986.
Pastor David and his wife Holly have been married for 29 years and have two children in college (Heather & Gray). They like hiking, boating, taking walks in the evening, and spending time with family. He is the son of a United Methodist Pastor and both came to the pulpit as a second career.
